Rule breakah.

I have always been a pretty by-the-book girl.  I think it comes from being raised by a school teacher and an engineer, along with some vestiges of typical first born personality traits (I am definitely not Type A, but I cannot bring myself to sneak into the movies or go to a park after it officially closes).  I am terrible at lying (embellishing doesn't count), I can't haggle, and I feel guilty about taking free samples of things that I have no intention of buying.

But some rules need a little bending every once and a while.

Look, ma - no skirt!

Saturday night, I left the house without anything covering my ass.  I mean, I had PANTS on, but nothing over those. No big shirt, no little dress, nothing.

Now, I realize this is not a big deal for a lot of people, but it was for me.  Since I was old enough to have an ass at all, people have been making fun of it.  When I was 6 years old, I was called "fatty" for the first (of many) times.  One afternoon when I was in middle school, a kid yelled, "You have a fat ass!" out of the school bus window as it pulled away.  In my twenties, walking down a Chicago street, a cab driver yelled, "That dress makes your ass look huge!"  So.

Two blogs with one stone.

Inspired by my Ambien-fueled post about hanging out in the sexy-book section of a book store, I decided to try it tonight.  I went to the Barnes & Noble at Richland Mall because I could stop in and visit my friends Jim and Jerry at Columbia Children's Theatre after.  I ALSO brought The Messrs. P with me, because what's more awkward than hanging out in the sexy-book section of a bookstore while posing fancy eggs and taking pictures of them?  And I need some 365 pics.

Idea.

I was inspired to try a little silly something by a convo with my friend, Becky: go to a bookstore and hang out unapologetically in the SEX section.  Flip through books and stop passersby and ask if they've ever heard of this stuff before.  Or, "have you ever tried this one?  Difficulty level seems awfully high...."

Something like that.  Just a thought.....

Live on tape.

The reason I did this is explained in the video below.  I was surprised by the fact that, while editing and watching it, I thought, "Aw, I like her."  Baby steps.

I am nervous about putting it out there and having mean people make mean comments.  But not doing so would be staying in the CZone, so, here goes.

...so, apparently, Blogger will only upload videos from YouTube.  I just waited over an hour to upload and have Vimeo format my video and do not want to wait another hour (or whatever) for the video to upload from my computer.  So, here's the link

Mission: Busking

So, I've seen a few people around town playing on the sidewalk or by the fountain in 5 Points.  And I'm short on cash right now. And I'm really nervous about playing my guitar in front of anybody.

So, I think busking will be my next (first?) mission.

I will not be wearing this outfit.

Not sure where to set up or what time of day or evening to do it.  I believe I may need a few compatriots to accompany me on a fact-finding mission one of these evenings......

Busy! What?!

I am currently in the middle of tech week for a play that will open on Friday, so I haven't had much time to DO anything outside my comfort zone (other than walking around in a costume that requires me to wear PANTS with no big top or dress covering my BUTT). Also, a friend has wisely advised that I postpone the rock climbing wall until after the show closes.

So I need to come up with something to DO, already!

There's a Groupon for flying lessons, but it's $99 and I don't know if I can float that right now. I had a random thought about walking around in public in a pair of shorts, but that's NOT going to happen. Maybe an open mic night?  Ach, I'm at a loss.

What do you think, 8 followers of mine?  What should I do?
